Presidential candidates in the 2023 elections on Monday attended the Nigerian Bar Association’s, NBA, annual general conference in Lagos.

The Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) kicked off with the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, in attendance.

The NBA had earlier said two other presidential candidates – Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) – did not confirm their availability for the conference.

The Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association is currently being held at the Eko Hotels.

Chimamanda Adichie, a literary icon and playwright is also attending the conference.

According to the NBA’s Technical Committee on Conference Planning (TCCP), Adichie will deliver the keynote speech at the event.

The TCCP disclosed that the 2022 NBA Annual General Conference, with the theme “Bold Transitions”, is held from 19th to 26th August 2022.

Also in attendance was the vice-presidential candidate of the APC, Kassim Shettima, the Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu and that of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, were also in attendance.

Also present at the event are Governors Solomon Lalong and Godwin Obaseki of Plateau and Edo states respectively.

The Lagos State Attorney General, Moyosore Onigbanjo is representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the state, while the Chief Judge of the state, Kazeem Alogba, is also present.
