Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has assured that the party will not perish in Imo State. He made this pledge during a meeting with aggrieved PDP leaders, Local Government Area, and Ward Chairmen from the three senatorial zones of Imo North, West, and East in Owerri on Monday.

The purpose of the meeting was to resolve issues and move the party forward, especially after some members felt betrayed during the 2023 presidential, National Assembly, and State assembly elections. Senator Anyanwu urged the leaders not to abandon the party but to work together to reclaim the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“As the National Secretary of our great Party, I will never allow PDP to die in Imo. I will collaborate with other leaders to keep our Party alive. This is a fight that all of us should engage in rather than thinking of leaving the Party,” he said.

The Senator acknowledged the political theft against the party during the elections and stressed that they were working tirelessly to regain their stolen mandates through the court. Senator Anyanwu also stated that the PDP did not lose any election, hence his decision to assist the candidates in offsetting their legal bills.

He encouraged party members to unite and prepare for the upcoming November 11, 2023, Governorship election, adding that they should avoid division and reconcile with aggrieved members. Senator Anyanwu emphasized that it is time for healing and pleaded with everyone to stop insulting the party’s leaders and each other.

“In this time of reconciliation, let us forget everything that happened in the past and remain focused and steadfast towards reclaiming our state from insecurity and abject poverty,” he appealed.

In summary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has assured PDP members in Imo State that he will work tirelessly with other leaders to keep the party alive. He urged members to remain united, reconcile with aggrieved members, and focus on the upcoming Governorship election.
