The closed-door meeting is tagged as an interactive session between the party national leadership and the party candidates to discuss issues concerning the 2023 election.

The meeting is being attended by all PDP governorship candidates except the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who is currently out of the country.

Similarly, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, who was also absent at the time the meeting began was said to have sent in his apologies, noting that he would join as the session continues.

The meeting is coming hours after the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, met in London, UK.

The meeting comes amid calls for the national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, to step aside by Nyesom Wike’s camp, as part of the conditions for the resolution of the impasse over the choice of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as the party’s presidential running mate.
