He said no more impeachment threats against the president since security has improved in the country. Kalu said this while speaking to newsmen on Tuesday.

It could be recalled On July 27, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators staged a walkout after Senate President Ahmad Lawan prevented Philip Aduda, senator representing federal capital territory (FCT), from discussing the rising insecurity and an ultimatum to Buhari after a closed session.

A majority of senators reportedly agreed that Buhari is given six weeks to fix security or face impeachment proceedings.

Kalu while speaking in the call for impeachment said it would fail because the All Progressives Congress (APC) has the number of lawmakers to keep the president in office.

“The issue of impeachment is a non-existing issue,” the senator said.

“Nobody is talking about it. Even if they try, they will fail because we have the number to resist it.

“There is nothing wrong with a lawmaker coming up with an impeachment threat but will they succeed? No! So, as far as I am concerned, there is no discussion about Buhari’s impeachment because security has improved.

“We have been meeting with the service chiefs and some of you were there and can testify that the issue of security has improved and it will keep improving.”
