5 teenagers suspected to be armed robbers have been arrested by the police in Ogun State.

The boys were apprehended while operating along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday, July 26, 2020.

Daily Post reveals that three of them had previously been caught while the others had escaped. Fortunately, the remaining two were also arrested during the weekend.

According to the police, the members of the robbery syndicate were nabbed by operatives of the Ogun State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The report discloses that the gang had on July 17, 2020, blocked the Alapako end of Lagos-Ibadan expressway and forcefully stopped a Mazda commercial bus with two occupants, subsequently dispossessing them of the sum of about N545,000 and an itel phone.

The victims had been physically assaulted with cutlasses by the teenagers.

TalkGlitz.tv gathered that the case was transferred to SARS and the suspects who were first arrested made useful statements that led to the two remaining gang members being apprehended.

Three cutlasses and wood crafted to look like a gun were recovered from the suspects.
