Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah is ready to remain at Arsenal ahead of the new season with the club ready to give him a final contract offer before June 30. The 22-year-old was expected to leave the club after he had been demanding to be the main striker for the Gunners in recent weeks.

Nketiah scored four goals in the Premier League albeit not playing so many games and usually starting from the bench and it was a minor role on the squad that made him push for an exit a few weeks ago.

The Arsenal are very happy at this turn of events and are looking to give the striker a long-term deal at the club in the next weeks. Nketiah is almost done with switching his international to Ghana from England and the former England U-21 striker is keen on playing regularly.

The deal he is offered at Arsenal is to be a five-year deal and will see his salary improved as well as his shirt number change to a more senior number. Nketiah is interested in remaining at Arsenal, a club he has been at since he was 16, and he is confident of getting starting roles at the club.

The youngster has been the main starter at the centre-forward position for the Gunners since March, dropping Alex Lacazette to the bench and a more remote role. Lacazette is set to depart in June and he is ready to listen to offers as he will be a free agent in the summer.

Arsenal is optimistic about Nketiah signing a new deal in the summer before his contract expires at the end of June.  The North London side is very excited at the prospect of Nketiah extending his stay at the club. However, the Gunners will still still sign another striker to give a proper balance to their squad ahead of the 2022/2023 season.

Gabriel Jesus has been rumoured to be a target for Arsenal, but Tottenham are also monitoring the forward. The Lilywhites may have an edge in signing the Brazil international as Spurs will be playing in the Champions League next season.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is considered a top player but he might be too expensive for the Gunners as Napoli have valued Osimhen at £85m and are not willing to step down their asking price.
