Governor of Nasarawa State has given insight into the benefits of crude oil discovery in the North Central state, following the inauguration of the first oil drilling of the Ebenyi-A Exploration Well by President Muhammadu Buhari. The oil well is located in the Middle Benue Trough in Obi Local Government Area of the state.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Governor Sule disclosed that the discovery of crude oil in the state has already created job opportunities for young residents. He expressed excitement that some of the youths were already employed by the company and working on the rig.
According to Governor Sule, the discovery of crude oil will be advantageous to the state’s economic empowerment. He emphasized the importance of training and experience for the young workers as they will be able to transfer the knowledge gained from their work to others in the state.
The Governor’s statements indicate that the discovery of crude oil in Nasarawa state has the potential to bring positive developments to the region’s economy, particularly in the areas of job creation and capacity building.
