Napoli Coach Urges Caution Despite Serie A Triumph
Luciano Spalletti

Napoli Coach, Luciano Spalletti, has urged his team not to start celebrating yet, despite a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Juventus. The win, courtesy of Giacomo Raspadori’s stoppage-time decider, put Napoli 17 points clear at the top of the Serie A table. However, Spalletti wants his team to remain focused, knowing they could still need one more win to secure their first league title since 1990.

Napoli’s triumph over Juventus came just days after their disappointing elimination from the Champions League by AC Milan. Speaking to DAZN after the match, Spalletti praised his team’s performance, stating that they played well despite the recent setback.

Napoli’s next game is against regional rivals, Salernitana, on Saturday. A win in that game would put them on the verge of being crowned champions, provided that Inter Milan avoid defeat at home against Lazio on Sunday.

Spalletti has come a long way in his career, having started out in lower league football as a player. If Napoli does secure the Scudetto, it will be his first league title since winning two with Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2010 and 2012, and his first trophy in a major league since leading Roma to an Italian Cup victory in 2008.

Despite his success as a coach, Spalletti has been criticized in the past for not having a winning mentality. However, he has proven his critics wrong with Napoli’s impressive performances this season.

Reflecting on his journey to the top, Spalletti acknowledged that it has been a tough road for him, having started from a lower level than some of his peers. Nonetheless, he is proud of what he has achieved and is relishing the prospect of winning the league with Napoli.
