Dapo Abiodun

On Friday, the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, announced plans to alleviate the suffering of residents due to the scarcity of fuel and new naira notes by distributing food items.

The governor stated that the administration had taken the initiative due to the ongoing fuel and cash crises that have made life difficult for citizens. The first phase of the food distribution will include 400,000 items and will be carried out through social investment officers in each local government area.

While addressing the media in Abeokuta, the state capital, Governor Abiodun also issued a warning to banks that were hoarding the new naira notes, stating that they would be considered as economic saboteurs and would face consequences. He encouraged young people in the state to avoid violent protests and reassured them that measures were being taken to provide relief.

Governor Abiodun emphasized that his administration was committed to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable citizens and providing support during these challenging times.

He stated that the distribution of food items was only the first step in addressing the ongoing crises and that more measures would be taken in the coming days to bring relief to residents.
