Dutch driver Max Verstappen yesterday won the Miami GP in what turned out to be one of the many unpredictable races in Formula 1. The Dutchman did not get off to a flying start and this was a worrying concern for RedBull who have been making good progress since the start of this season. Monacan speedster Charles Leclerc was the one who finished in pole position on Saturday and this was a huge boost for Ferrari who have been in and about and with his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr also close, the racers and technical crew were confident.

However Verstappen had begun the race very brightly and it turned out it was going to be a feisty race on our hands. The Miami track had 57 laps and by the time it was half crossed by the RedBull and Ferrari racers, it seemed all was to be lost for other teams. Mercedes were very brilliant in the pre test but during the race were rather dreadful, by Mercedes standards. George Russel was closest to the top three but unfortunately could not make a podium finish as he finished 5th.

Meanwhile fellow Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton was no better off as he was also struggling. Toto Wolff has not made any concrete complaints yet but is confident of subsequent races for the German machine. Hamilton finished 6th, to the disappointment of many  British and Mercedes fans alike.

Defending champion from last season Verstappen,  finished first in Miami and was flanked by Charles Leclerc(2nd) and Carlos Sainz Jr(3rd),both of Ferrari. Youngster of McLaren Lando Norris did not complete his race and Mercedes will be looking to bounce back from their recent woes. Verstappen is currently on 20 points, two ahead of Leclerc.
