Mbappe Confirms Commitment to PSG Amid Future Speculation
Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe, the French football superstar, has recently confirmed that he will remain a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player for the upcoming season, putting an end to the speculations over his future. In an interview with France 3 on Wednesday evening, Mbappe affirmed that he sees himself playing for the PSG in the coming season, saying, “I am Parisian, I have a contract and so it’s Paris Saint-Germain.”

Mbappe had signed a contract extension with PSG at the end of the last season, which would keep him in the club until 2025. However, there were reports in the French media that the last year of the contract is optional, and it will depend on the player’s decision. This raised the possibility of Mbappe leaving the club for free at the end of the next season.

The French forward joined PSG in 2017 from Monaco and has been striving to win the UEFA Champions League with his home city club. Despite being able to reach the finals, semi-finals, quarter-finals, and the last 16, he is yet to win the tournament, and he hopes to do it as soon as possible.

Moreover, Mbappe revealed that it is his “dream” to represent France at the Paris Olympics, which will take place in 2024. However, clubs are usually not obligated to release players for the Olympics, as it is not part of the FIFA international match calendar. Mbappe acknowledged that he would not force it and would have to consider his club and national team commitments. He said, “All these things need to be considered, but of course, it would be a dream to play at the Olympics, all the more so in Paris.”

Mbappe’s comments come a week after he expressed his disappointment over the club’s use of an interview with him as part of their season-ticket advertising campaign. The club later removed the footage in response to Mbappe’s complaint.

Kylian Mbappe is a World Cup winner with France in 2018 and was the runner-up last year. He hopes to play for his country at the Olympics and continue to contribute to PSG’s success in the upcoming season.
