Manchester United Manager Urges Squad to Step Up Despite Injuries
Ten Hag

According to recent reports, Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has stated that the team cannot use injuries to defenders Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane as an excuse if their top-four push is damaged against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The injuries occurred during Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla, with Martinez being stretchered off due to his right ankle and Varane being substituted at halftime. Ten Hag had no update on the condition of either player when he spoke to reporters on Friday.

There have been reports that World Cup winner Martinez may have broken a metatarsal, which could rule him out for the rest of the season. However, Ten Hag remained coy and stated that he would provide an update as soon as they had more information. With Martinez and Varane now added to an injury list that already includes Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Donny van de Beek, Manchester United’s injury problems could not have come at a worse time.

Although Ten Hag hopes that Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay will be fit for the Forest game, he emphasized the importance of squad players stepping up. He noted that every game is a battle and a fight, and that the team has more than 11 starters. Thus, squad players must be ready to contribute when their time comes.

Ten Hag stated that finding excuses or setting excuses is not acceptable for a Manchester United player. He said that squad players must wait for their moment and then contribute to the team’s performance, which is what the team demands.

Finally, it should be emphasized that plagiarism is not acceptable, and all writing must be original. Therefore, it is essential to avoid copying text directly from other sources and instead use one’s own words to express the same ideas.
