Manchester United Linked To Aarons As Right-Back Hunt Begins
NORWICH, ENGLAND – DECEMBER 09: Max Aarons of Norwich City and Sammy Ameobi of Nottingham Forest compete for the ball during the Sky Bet Championship match between Norwich City and Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road

The former England U-21s right-back was supposed to join Tottenham last year but the North London club signed Emerson Royal from Barcelona for £25m in August last year.  Aarons has had deals to Spurs and Everton collapse due to one reason or the other but with Manchester United under a new management system, it is clear Aarons could be a priority signing.
Manchester United is planning to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer for a reduced fee of £20m. The Crystal Place academy graduate had a very good first season at the club and also a good second season as well but has failed to find his feet during the 2021/2022 campaign. He has been much criticized for only possessing defending prowess and lacks the attacking intent that fullbacks often have nowadays.

Diogo Dalot has enjoyed more game time this season but the club are looking to end their woes at RB. Aarons has emerged as the sole option for a right-back for Manchester United this summer and the three-time Champions League winners are ready to launch a bid to sign the English defender.

Aarons has been a cynosure for his style of play amid Norwich sinking back to the Championship. Manchester United will start with £15m for Aarons and then the deal could become £20m with add-ons and other bonuses. Sources close to Aarons say he wishes to play top-flight football and will consider a good offer from Manchester United.  United are also considering sales for Eric Bailly and Anthony Martial should the appropriate bids come forward.

Manchester United are also considering centre-back Jurrien Timber replacing Eric Bailly as he is no longer wanted at old Trafford. Timber, 20, has worked under manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax and is a product of the Jong Ajax setup. Highly-rated as he can deputies at right-back, the defender is considered one for the future and ten Hag seriously wants him to be at Old Trafford next season.
