Manchester United and Crystal Palace Fined for Players' Misconduct

Manchester United and Crystal Palace have been fined £55,000 each for failing to control their players during their Premier League match held at Old Trafford earlier this month.

The altercation between the players occurred in the 67th minute when Palace midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp knocked United winger Antony off the pitch.

The collision caused a mass confrontation between the players, and United midfielder Casemiro was sent off after a VAR review.

Casemiro was shown a straight red card for grabbing Palace midfielder Will Hughes by the neck, while Schlupp and Antony received bookings.

Although United accepted the charge, Palace denied it. However, an Independent Regulatory Commission later found the charge against Palace proven and imposed fines on both clubs.

An FA spokesperson announced the fines on Twitter, stating that both teams were punished for their players’ failure to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and refrain from provocative behaviour.

Despite Schlupp reducing the deficit soon after the flare-up, United won the match 2-1 thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ early penalty and Marcus Rashford’s close-range finish.
