Labour Party's Presidential Candidate Challenges Outcome of Election
Peter Obi

On Tuesday morning, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the Chief Spokesman of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign of the Labour Party, announced that Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, had submitted a formal petition. The petition is challenging the process that led to the outcome of the Presidential Election that was held on February 28, 2023.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu was declared the winner of the election and subsequently named the President-Elect. Mr. Obi’s petition disputes the fairness and transparency of the election process, citing several irregularities.

Dr. Tanko shared this information in a brief message to Vanguard, a reputable news outlet. The Labour Party is taking this matter seriously, and they are committed to pursuing all legal means to ensure that the election process is transparent and fair for all candidates.
