Gunmen have abducted 19-year-old Adetutu Okinbaloye from her home in Imoru community, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, according to the Police Command. The incident was confirmed by SP Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the command spokesman, to newsmen on Tuesday in Akure.

The monarch of the town called the DPO to inform him while at the collation center on Saturday that three people were attacked in their home by gunmen. While two of them managed to escape, the third person, Adetutu Okinbaloye, was abducted. The gunmen had broken into the victim’s home, injuring her aunt, Mrs Alaba Oga, before taking Adetutu away.

According to a source in the community, the abductors have contacted the family and demanded N10 million ransom. The police and local security group, the Amotekun corps, are on the trail of the kidnappers.

This incident adds to the growing number of cases of insecurity in the country, with many Nigerians living in constant fear of attacks and kidnappings. The government and security agencies need to step up their efforts to protect citizens and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
