It was gathered that justice Arowolo who is the next most senior justice of the  Supreme Court will be sworn in today.

Ariwoola was formerly a Justice of the Nigerian courts of appeal. On November 22, 2011, he was appointed to the bench of the supreme court of Nigeria as Justice, sworn in by the then Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Justice Olukayode Ariwoola was born on August 22, 1954. He was appointed a Judge of the Oyo State High Court in 1992 and later made a Justice of the Court of Appeal in November 2005.

He is also a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Nigerian Body of Benchers.

It was reported on Talkglitz Media that Justice Tanko Muhammed resigned earlier today.
Tanko’s resignation comes in the wake of corruption charges leveled against him by 14 justices of the Supreme Court.

In a leaked letter last week, the Supreme court justices accused Justice Tanko of corruption, misconduct, and neglect of personnel welfare.

The rare charges were seen by court analysts as historically explosive, warning that it could worsen its reputation.

Mr. Tanko replied to the justices, accusing them of dancing naked in the marketplace and absolving himself of any wrongdoing.
