John McGlynn chases third manager award as Scottish football’s best battle it out

Falkirk's John McGlynn is going for his third consecutive PFA Scotland manager of the year award, and he's got some serious company this time around. Hearts' Derek McInnes and Stenhousemuir's Gary Naysmith are also in the mix, making this one of the tighter contests in recent memory.

McGlynn has been absolutely cooking with Falkirk. Getting to three in a row would be massive, especially in a league where managers are always fighting to prove themselves week after week. The man has clearly done something special to earn back-to-back wins already.

McInnes at Hearts brings his own pedigree to the table. He's a manager who knows how to build something solid, and if Hearts are in the conversation, it means he's got them competing at the right level. Naysmith over at Stenhousemuir is the dark horse here, and that's what makes it interesting. These awards aren't just about the biggest clubs anymore.

Notably, one manager didn't make the cut this year. The snub is always part of the story in these awards, and some deserving boss will have to wait for their moment. That's football though, innit. Someone's always getting left out of the conversation.

The PFA will make the call soon, and whatever happens, all three of these managers have shown they can compete and get results in Scottish football. That's what the award is really about.
