JAMB Reschedules Missed UTME Exams for Candidates
JAMB Announces New Date for Missed UTME Exams

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who missed the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) due to no fault of theirs will be rescheduled to take the exam on May 6, 2023. According to JAMB, these are candidates who were verified at their centres but could not sit the examination, those who could not be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data.

The UTME, which began on April 25, 2023, was scheduled to end on May 2, 2023. JAMB said that despite using innovative methods to curb examination malpractice, some candidates were unable to sit for the exam due to human negligence. Out of the 1,586,765 candidates who indicated interest in taking the examination, only 80,166 were outstanding.

JAMB stated that results of candidates who have taken the examination so far will be released on May 2, 2023. However, candidates who sat the exam but had challenges without being aware of such would not see their results but would receive notifications for a rescheduled examination. All candidates who sat the exam are urged to check their results on or before May 8, 2023.

JAMB explained that unverified candidates, candidates at the Beautiful Beginning CBT Centre, Apo, Abuja, candidates rescheduled to take the examination on April 27 but who could not receive the notification, candidates in centres with reduced capacity, and candidates with data mismatch will take the exam on May 6, 2023.

Unverified candidates are those who were registered for the 2023 UTME without any biometric difficulty but could not be verified on the day of the exam. They will be taking their examination in Abuja under close supervision. Candidates who were scheduled to sit the UTME at the Beautiful Beginning CBT Centre, Apo, Abuja, but missed the exam due to the wrong address of the centre have been rescheduled to take the exam on May 6, 2023.

Also, candidates who had been rescheduled to retake their examination on April 27, 2023, but could not receive the notification, and candidates in centres with reduced capacity will take the exam on May 6, 2023. The Board has accommodated candidates with data mismatch whose personal details could not be rectified early enough to enable them to sit their examination at their scheduled time, and they will also take the exam on May 6, 2023.
