Hushpuppi’s Acts A Dent On The Image Of Nigeria

The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described Hushpuppi’s acts as a dent on the nation’s image.

While cautioning Nigerians against such crimes, Dabiri-Erewa said that Hushpuppi’s committing his cybercrimes and still having the audacity to show off is denting the image of Nigerians.

Hushpuppi was arrested by the Dubai police last month and is currently in the US where he will be tried for his alleged involvement in internet fraud.

It was revealed that about N16 billion in cash was found out of an estimated N168 billion online scams linked to the crime syndicate.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Abike Dabiri-Erewa said:

Committing crime and still having the audacity to show off like Ramon Igbalode aka Hushpuppi. This is really denting our image as a people.

But like I always say, fraud does not represent who we are as Nigerians; hardworking, dedication and commitment is what we, as a country are known for.”
