TMZ Producer and Charlamagne Tha God Say Wendy Seems Fine Despite Claims of Disability

Wendy Williams appears to be far from the disabled state described by her guardianship’s attorney, according to TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin. After spending 90 minutes on a phone call with Wendy, Harvey expressed shock over her being under guardianship, which has stripped her of personal and financial independence.
Speaking alongside Charlamagne Tha God, who has also interacted with Wendy recently, Harvey described her as lucid, articulate, and opinionated—a stark contrast to claims by the guardianship attorney, Roberta Kaplan, who previously stated that Wendy suffers from permanent disability due to frontal lobe dementia.
A Different Picture
During the call, Wendy showed no signs of impaired judgment or hesitation, according to Harvey and Charlamagne. Wendy’s past struggles with substance abuse were acknowledged, but Harvey noted that she sounded sober and in control during their conversation.
The observations raise questions about the circumstances that led to her being placed under guardianship. Harvey speculated that the initial decision might have been influenced more by concerns over alcohol use than by a medical condition.
Contradictory Accounts
Kaplan has maintained that Wendy has “good days and bad days.” However, Harvey pointed out that Wendy seemed fine not only during their call but also in multiple interviews conducted recently. Charlamagne confirmed that his own conversations with Wendy over the past week presented no indication of disability.
Guardianship vs. Freedom
Harvey pondered whether Wendy might thrive better outside of the strict guardianship, suggesting that she could benefit from a sober coach rather than being confined to an assisted living facility.
The situation has sparked debate, with some questioning whether Wendy’s guardianship remains necessary or whether her apparent clarity and coherence suggest she could regain autonomy over her life.
