Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his frustration with Premier League officials over what he believes is unfair treatment of his side regarding the issue of time-wasting. Guardiola stated that his team is treated unfairly compared to other teams in the league.

Speaking to reporters before Manchester City’s game against Newcastle, Guardiola vented his frustration about his team’s yellow card for time-wasting during the game against Arsenal in February. He argued that Manchester City is the team with the least waste of time in the league and that his side is often victimized compared to other teams.

Guardiola is not the only manager to express his concerns about time-wasting and teams not having the ball in active play for a long time. Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag recently labelled Newcastle as ‘annoying’ in reference to their time-wasting antics.

Despite his concerns, Guardiola indicated that he has not brought up his grievances with the authorities. He also dismissed concerns about the referees, stating that he does not care what they do.

Manchester City will be looking to continue their title charge when they host Newcastle in the Premier League. The Magpies are winless in their last four games and will be aiming to halt Manchester City’s charge and close the gap to table-toppers Arsenal.
