In a statement released Sunday in Osogbo, the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, revealed that Governor Adeleke has officially dissolved the 7th State House of Assembly.

Governor Adeleke invoked his authority as granted by Section 105(3) of the Nigerian constitution to carry out this action. The dissolution of the 7th Assembly paves the way for the establishment of the 8th Assembly.

To mark this transition, the governor issued a proclamation for the inauguration of the 8th assembly, which is set to take place on June 6.

In a letter addressed to the Clerk of the state assembly, Governor Adeleke expressed his decision to dissolve the 7th assembly and the subsequent proclamation of the 8th assembly. The governor’s message stated, “I write to convey my proclamation for the holding of the 8th Assembly.

“In exercise of powers bestowed upon me by Section 105 (3) aforesaid, and of all powers enabling me in that behalf, hereby proclaim that the First Session of the Eighth (8th) Assembly of Osun State House of Assembly shall hold on Tuesday, 6th June 2019 at 10 am in Osun State House of Assembly.”
