German giants Bayern Munich are interested in Tottenham winger Heung-Min Son, whom the club sees as an alternative to Liverpool’s Senegalese winger Sadio Mane. With Serge Gnabry set to join Real Madrid and Kingsley Coman’s future still in doubt, the South Korea international is now a primary target for the Bundesliga holders.
Son has been a very consistent player for Tottenham and the South Korean skipper is catching the eye of many clubs around Europe. The 30-year-old is very committed to Spurs and has been at the club since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Bayer04 Leverkusen. Heung-Min Son is the current top scorer at Tottenham this season and the second-highest in the Premier League with 21 goals, one behind Mo Salah.
Bayern were following Mane but with Jurgen Klopp signing a contract extension till 2025, it is likely that Sadio Mane will remain at the Merseyside next season. Son is considered a desirable winger, who has good pace, excellent crossing abilities, and also 1v1 dribbling abilities, not to mention an eye for goal. Heung-Min Son is very happy at Spurs and he is happy to work under Italian tactician Antonio Conte and it is very certain that Spurs will not let him leave anytime soon.
Bayern are weighing up a £65m move Tottenham are set to reject the offer, claiming that Heung-Min Son is worth much more than £65m and the North London club reportedly values Son at £110m. Bayern Munich will try to enter negotiations with the Spurs board at the start of next week regarding their number 7.
Bayern Munich are also interested in a swap deal that could see Tottenham trade Heung-Min Son to get Benjamin Pavard, with Bayern paying £55m + Benjamin Pavard for the services of Heung-Min Son. Bayern Munich will give Son a four-year deal, with the option of another year should he agree to personal terms with the Bavarian giants this summer. Son won the 2019/2020 Puskas award for the best goal in the world when he ran the entire length of the pitch against Burnley to score a brilliant individual goal.
