Famous Nollywood actress turned politician Funke Akindele has deleted all political-related posts on her Instagram page.
Funke Akindele is the running mate to Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) umbrella for the Lagos State governorship candidate.
However, she deleted all politics-related posts hours after their defeat in the recently concluded March 18, 2023, gubernatorial elections.
Upon checking Akindele’s Instagram page on Monday, it was observed that only posts related to her movie promotions and personal activities were visible.
The incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the Lagos State governorship election with 762,134 votes. He defeated Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who scored 312,329 votes, and Abdul-Azeez Adediran, who was Akindele’s running mate, with 62,449 votes.
It is unclear why Akindele deleted her political-related posts, but it could be inferred that she may have wanted to focus on her acting career and personal life.
