Charles Aniagwu, the Delta State Commissioner for Information and spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign, has urged the Delta APC Governorship candidate and Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to accept his defeat and congratulate the PDP’s Sheriff Oborevwori for his victory in the March 18th gubernatorial election.

In a statement, Aniagwu clarified that the Delta State Governorship and House of Assembly elections were conducted in accordance with the relevant laws, particularly the Electoral Act 2022, as amended. The results from various units, wards, and local government areas were duly collated and were considered to be free, fair, credible, and transparent, with winners emerging across the State Constituencies.

Aniagwu expressed concern that the APC, which unleashed terror on innocent voters in Ughelli North and parts of Ethiope west, could accuse others of wrongdoing. He further highlighted that the APC won 6 State Constituencies, making it contradictory for them to describe the election as non-compliant with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 as amended.

Aniagwu appreciated the unalloyed support and solidarity of the people of Delta State with the PDP. He promised that the PDP would continue delivering on the Okowa mandate until the last day of the administration.

Finally, Aniagwu called on Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to accept defeat and do the needful expected of democrats by congratulating the PDP Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, on his well-deserved victory at the polls.
