The residence of the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Samson Odedina, was gutted by fire on Thursday.
The house located at Kemta Idi-Aba Area of Abeokuta was said to have caught fire during the day.
Although the cause of the fire remains unknown, firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze.
Unfortunately, the inferno was able to completely destroy the building and all of its contents.
Despite the tragic loss of property worth millions of naira, Odedina expressed gratitude that no lives were lost during the incident.
The Director of the Ogun State Fire Service, Fatai Adefala, later announced that the fire had originated in the kitchen.
