Fayose Reacts to PDP Members' Suspension
Fayose

Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has shared his thoughts on the recent suspension of some prominent members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In a statement released on his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Fayose expressed his concern about the current state of the PDP National Working Committee, stating that they should be in a sober and reflective mood following the party’s loss in the last national election.

Fayose went further to speculate on what the outcome would have been if the PDP had won the election, noting that they might have acted more heinously. “Imagine what they would have done if Atiku had won!” he exclaimed. He then expressed gratitude that the party could now pick the pieces and move on.

The former governor criticized the suspension of some PDP leaders, including a sitting governor in the party, by the National Working Committee. He described it as unnecessary and counterproductive. He questioned the wisdom of going after leaders perceived to be their enemies, especially after losing a national election.

It would be recalled that the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, was suspended by the party. The suspension was carried out by the Ward Executive of the party in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue State. However, the National Working Committee of the PDP reviewed and reversed the suspensions of some of its chieftains, including former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim; Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Dr. Aslam Aliyu, and H.E Ibrahim Shema.
