On Thursday, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose joined Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on a last-minute campaign tour to various parts of Lagos State. During their visit to the Lagos Airport, a video of Fayose urging members of the car hire associations to vote for Governor Sanwo-Olu in the upcoming election went viral.
In the video, Fayose emphasized the importance of voting for a Yoruba candidate and stated that Lagos is a Yoruba land. He also urged the car hire associations to support Sanwo-Olu’s bid for a second term.
Sanwo-Olu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is seeking another four-year term as Governor of Lagos State. He faces stiff competition from his main rivals, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) and Abdulazeez Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2023.
It is worth noting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set the date for the governorship and state assembly elections for March 18, 2023
