Drake’s highly-anticipated SiriusXM show at the iconic Apollo Theater, which has undergone several reschedulings, will finally take place this weekend despite the rapper’s ongoing ankle injury.

The “God’s Plan” hitmaker took to Instagram earlier this week to express his appreciation for the medical care he received from Atria NY, writing, “Let’s see what I can do on this piece of shit ankle on Saturday.”

This isn’t the first time Drake has struggled with an ankle injury; in 2016, he postponed several concerts and had to cancel others due to the injury, and was reportedly hospitalized for it in April 2020.

According to sources, the latest flare-up of the injury is related to the same issue. Despite this,

Drake has been spotted out and about in New York City, visiting members-only clubs and dining at upscale restaurants.

The Apollo Theater show, which was originally planned for November 11 but was postponed due to the tragic death of Drake’s friend, Migos rapper Takeoff, and then rescheduled for December 6 and 7 but canceled due to production issues, is expected to be a spectacular event.
