Doncic, who is only 24 years old, has already made a huge impression in the NBA; this was his sixth game this season in which he scored 50 points. Doncic spoke to ESPN about his joy, saying he was “feeling good” after reaching 10,000 points in 358 games. Together with Bob McAdoo, he is now the seventh-fastest player in NBA history to accomplish this record. With 10,000 points in just 236 games, Wilt Chamberlain still holds the record.

After losing three in a row, the Mavericks snapped their losing skid with a victory over the Suns, their second straight victory. It was the Suns’ ninth loss in their previous twelve games, a trend that continued throughout their recent struggles.

Derrick Jones Jr. scored 23 points and Dereck Lively II had a career-best 20 points and 10 rebounds to help the Mavericks win. A key contributor, scoring 18 points, was Tim Hardaway Jr.

Notable performances on Christmas Day also included youngster Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat, who set a career high with 31 points and 10 rebounds in a 119-113 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. In the third straight victory for the Miami Heat, Bam Adebayo had a huge impact with 26 points and 15 rebounds, and Tyler Herro chipped in with 22 points.
