According to recent news, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Sen Dino Melaye, has accused Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike of suffering from post-election trauma. The two politicians have been in a face-off since Melaye expressed interest in running for the PDP gubernatorial candidacy, which Wike opposed.

During a media chat in Port Harcourt on April 11, Wike stated that Melaye did not possess the qualities required to become a governor. Melaye, however, attributed Wike’s rift with him to his failure to secure the PDP presidential ticket in 2022 and Atiku Abubakar’s refusal to choose him as a running mate.

Melaye has recently won the PDP’s ticket to run for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State. While appearing on the Arise Television program on Wednesday, Melaye described Wike as a drug and alcohol-induced individual and stated that he had no time to talk about such a personality. He said that Wike is on the verge of leaving office and is suffering from post-election trauma. Therefore, he wants to concentrate seriously on his election and how to rescue the people of Kogi State.
