A good number of people will say Liverpool winger Luis Diaz was the best signing in the PL this season and they may have huge reasons to say so. With six goals and three assists in 20 appearances in all competitions this season, Diaz may be the real deal according to many Premier League fans as they cannot get enough of the Colombia international.

Diaz signed for the Reds in January and for a mid-season signing, he has done more than good. He joined from Porto for around £37m and has settled nicely at the Merseyside, with the winger enjoying regular game time on the left-wing and thus forcing Sadio Mane to play as a centre-forward.

Many others will call Dejan Kulusevski, the on-loan winger from Juventus who joined Tottenham for the second half of the season. Kulusevski opted to leave Juventus in December and has well found his feet in North London, where he has been a pivotal player under Antonio Conte. The Swedish Ginger, as he is fondly called, has scored 5 goals in 18 PL appearances. Added to that, the winger has recorded 8 assists in the PL with Spurs, and the more reason why many fans believe he is the signing of the season.

Kulusevski has been instrumental in Tottenham achieving a UEFA Champions League slot going into the 2022/2023 season and it is looking more likely that the North London club will sign him permanently. His teammate Cristian Romero, also on loan from Atalanta has also been an exciting player to watch. At centre-back, he is seen as a rock and has proper coordination skills that help to put the defence in shape at all times. Romero was the Best Defender in the Serie A for the 2020/2021 season and he has done similarly in England. Spurs are very confident about signing him on a five-year deal and the summer seems to bring plenty of prospects for Tottenham.

Brentford’s Christian Eriksen has been a big performer in the Premier League this season. Another mid-season transfer like the rest, Eriksen joined Brentford on a free transfer following his cardiac arrest at EURO 2020 which forced Inter Milan to terminate his contract at the club due to his health complications. However, after a series of tests were conducted on him, the Denmark international has been certified fit to play football again and he was signed by Brentford who took him on a six-month deal, keeping him at the club until July. Eriksen has been very instrumental in Brentford’s survival in the Premier League, possessing excellent passing abilities, long balls, and bringing a wealth of experience. Playing a total of 11 PL matches, he scored once and assisted four times, his goal coming in Brentford’s huge victory over Chelsea that finished 1-4 in favour of the Bees.

Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo is also in the conversation. Ronaldo scored 18 goals in 30 PL appearances, including hat-tricks against Norwich and Spurs. The legendary 37-year-old has been the best player for dismal Manchester United who have struggled for the better part of two-thirds of the season. United finished the season with 58 points, their lowest in Premier League history, and also a goal difference of zero, after scoring fifty-eight times and conceding the same number. Ronaldo scored 6 goals in 7 UEFA Champions League appearances and his superstar performances have edged him well ahead of his teammates.
