The presiding judge, Justice Christy Dabup, in a judgement delivered on Friday, dismissed the corruption charges levelled against Jang by the EFCC.

Justice Dabup also discharged Jang’s co-defendant, Yusuf Pam, a former cashier in the office of the Secretary to the Plateau State Government.

It was understood that the said suit has lingered for over four years.

The case file claimed that Jang and Pam misappropriated the sum of N6.3bn before they vacated office in 2015, an allegation that they denied.

It could be recalled Jang and Pan were first arraigned in June 2018 by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on a 17-count charge bordering on misappropriation of funds, criminal breach of trust and corrupt advantages.

The anti-graft agency alleged that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 315, 309, 19 and 22(5) of the Penal Code Law and Corrupt Practices Act 2004, (as amended).
