Churchill says there’s no legal marriage to divorce Rosy Muerer

Olakunle Churchill is not backing down. The businessman just released a statement saying Rosy Muerer can't file for divorce in court because they never had a legal marriage in the first place, just an introduction ceremony.

Last week, Rosy filed for divorce after five years together and two kids. The timing was messy too, because Churchill had just publicly reconciled with his ex-wife, actress Tonto Dikeh. That's when Rosy decided enough was enough and went to court.

But Churchill's argument is basically this: introductions aren't legally binding marriages. They're different from church weddings or court weddings. So technically, according to him, there's nothing to divorce. He also claims he wasn't even served any legal documents about the case, so he's saying people are giving Rosy bad advice about how the law actually works.

He's also throwing shade at the narrative that Rosy stood by him through his custody battle with Tonto. Churchill is saying any woman could have been there for him during that time, so it wasn't some special sacrifice on Rosy's part. It's basically him saying she's not owed anything.

As for Tonto, Churchill says they've both made mistakes in the past but have forgiven each other. So that whole chapter is closed now, apparently.

The question everyone's asking is: does this legal argument actually hold water? That's what the courts will have to decide.
