China has announced the full reopening of its borders after three years of strict anti-Coronavirus measures.

China Reopens Borders To Foreign Travellers After Three-Year Restriction

China said it will resume issuing visas to foreign tourists since closing its borders at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic three years ago.

The Foreign Ministry which made the announcement in Beijing, said β€œall types of visas for foreigners will be issued again” from Wednesday.

The announcement is coming after the country said it had defeated the virus and is in the last stage of ending its three-year zero-COVID policy.

China reopened its borders at the beginning of January primarily for business travellers and family visits.

Now tourists can also travel regularly to the country again, while visa-free entry to some regions is also restored.

Long-term visas issued before the border closure on March 28, 2020, can also be used again, according to the statement.
