Chelsea Striker Aubameyang Takes Pay Cut for Marseille Transfer
Aubameyang Agrees to Join Marseille, Chelsea Exit Imminent

In a bid to put an end to his Chelsea nightmare, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly reached an agreement to join Marseille, with the player showing a willingness to accept a pay cut for the move.

Chelsea, however, held firm in their demands, seeking £5 million as a transfer fee for the 34-year-old forward. The deal’s outcome hinged on whether the Blues would be open to waiving the fee and allowing Aubameyang to leave without any financial obligations.

Marseille had initially hoped to secure Aubameyang’s signature on a free transfer, following the player’s acceptance of a two-year contract with an option for an additional year in Ligue 1.

If Chelsea were to insist on a transfer fee, it could potentially result in a financial setback for Aubameyang, as Marseille would likely seek to renegotiate the terms of his contract to accommodate the fee.

At Chelsea, Aubameyang is believed to earn a weekly wage of approximately £150,000, and his move to Marseille would entail a significant reduction in his salary.

Ongoing negotiations are taking place, with all parties demonstrating a keen interest in reaching an agreement that would allow Aubameyang to depart from Stamford Bridge after a challenging year.

Last summer, Aubameyang joined Chelsea for a fee of £12 million, eager to reunite with manager Thomas Tuchel. However, Tuchel was surprisingly sacked less than a week after the player’s arrival.

Throughout the previous season, Aubameyang struggled to find his form, managing to score just three goals in 22 appearances for Chelsea.

The talks between the involved parties are expected to continue as they strive to strike a deal that satisfies all parties involved and paves the way for Aubameyang’s departure from Chelsea.
