CBN Reinforces Support for Youth Entrepreneurs to Stimulate Nigerian Economy

Dr Isa Abdulmumin, Director of the Corporate Communications Department at CBN, emphasized this commitment during the CBN fair held in Bauchi on Friday. Recognizing the challenges faced by young individuals in securing employment and launching new businesses, Abdulmumin urged unemployed youths with promising business ideas to seize the opportunities provided by the CBN Agric Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme. The scheme offers access to funds without the need for collateral, enabling aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Highlighting the CBN’s focus on business diversification, the director reiterated the apex bank’s unwavering support for various sectors through a range of interventions, including agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, and other pivotal industries. Abdulmumin assured that the CBN would continue to fulfill its core mandate of ensuring monetary and price stability while implementing proactive and innovative policies to support all economic sub-sectors.

Abdulmumin further underscored the importance of the Nigerian currency, the Naira, as a symbol of national identity. He urged citizens to respect and protect the currency, refraining from actions such as spraying, hawking, mutilating, or counterfeiting the Naira.

Speaking at the fair, Mr Salahu Mohammed, the acting Branch Controller of CBN Bauchi, highlighted the objective of the event, which aimed to raise awareness among the public about the e-Naira, payment systems, consumer protection, currency operations, and other policies and programs initiated by the bank.
