Breaking News: Borussia Dortmund Appoint Terzic As New Manager

Borussia Dortmund can confirm the appointment of Edin as the new head coach of the club following the sack of Marco Rose on Friday as the 2022/2023 season draws nearer than ever. The club relieved Rose of his duties at the club last week following a trophyless season in which Dortmund was second-best again in the Bundesliga.

Breaking News: Borussia Dortmund Appoint Terzic As New Manager
Edin signs as BVB head coach until June 2025

Terzic will take charge of the proceedings at the Signal Iduna Park at the start of June and his early announcement is meant to give him ample time to set dates for pre-season, training sessions before pre-season, and other related schedules. The club has also completed the signing of three players namely; Nico Schlotterbeck, Niklas Sule, and Karim Adeyemi, all Germany internationals.

Terzic,39, agreed to terms by signing a three-year deal that sees him stay until the summer of 2025, and the contract is said to be a simple one that may not see increments in salary unless he is offered another deal. The monetary terms of his contract remain hidden from the media for now but may soon be let out of the bag.

The German-Croat has been in and around the coaching scene for nearly eleven years and he has been on the Croatia national team’s backroom staff at the Euros 2012 where he was assistant to Slaven Bilic. He has worked with Bilic at West Ham during the Croatian’s time in East London, where he became a popular manager in the English scene.

The former German footballer got his UEFA Pro Licence with The FA in England back in 2018 when he was working closely with Bilic. Terzic albeit, got his first managerial job on an interim basis when he took over from Lucien Favre towards the end of the 2020/2021 season following the sacking of the Swiss gaffer. Terzic had previously worked as the assistant manager of Lucien Favre at Borussia Dortmund, back in 2019.

Terzic has not yet named his backroom staff and it is believed this will be done before June 1 as the German tactician is believed to be a workaholic. During his time as interim manager of Borussia Dortmund, Terzic won the DFB Pokal with the Yellow and Black when they beat RB Leipzig 1-4 in the final to clinch silverware.

Borussia Dortmund intend to sign at least four more players this window to complete their quest for glory in next season’s campaign as they head off for vacation time to recharge and prepare for pre-season.
