Bill Gates Supports To Fight As He Donates $1 Million To The Nigerian Government

Bill Gates has donated $1 million to the Nigerian government to fight COVID-19. The donation was made by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Bill Gates donated this $1 million (N383,240,000) in support of the Nigerian government in addressing the challenges of pandemic.

The disclosure was made by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) resident representative in Nigeria, Mohamed Yahya. The money was paid by a UN finance support platform tagged “One UN Response Basket Fund. The fund is managed by the UNDP. Yahya on Tuesday, July 21, said the donation was made by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Also said:

  “Through the Basket Fund, the UN aims to ensure policy coherence, programmatic alignment, harmonisation, and coordination of support to the Government of during the time of crisis.
