Arsenal's Place in the Champions League is a Trophy, Says Mustafi
Mustafi Believes Arsenal’s Future Lies in Champions League

Former Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has expressed his belief that the Gunners have already won a title this season by securing a return to the Champions League. According to Mustafi, Arsenal’s participation in the Champions League next season is a significant achievement, even more so than winning a title. The German international, who left Arsenal to join Schalke earlier this year, praised the current Premier League leaders for surpassing his expectations this season.

Mustafi’s opinion was echoed by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who recently addressed the press ahead of their game against Fulham. Guardiola suggested that finishing second in the league would already be a great achievement for Mikel Arteta’s team.

Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League this season appear slim, having ceded ground to Manchester City in the last three games where they have only managed to pick up two points. However, Mustafi believes that securing a place in the Champions League is a significant accomplishment for the club.

“Arsenal has not played in the Champions League since Arsene Wenger left the club,” Mustafi told Metro. “I think Arsenal have already won a title in which they play in the Champions League again next year because that’s where the club belongs.”

It is worth noting that Mustafi’s opinion is not universally shared, as some Arsenal fans may prioritize winning the league title over securing a place in the Champions League. Nonetheless, Mustafi’s comments and Guardiola’s endorsement provide an interesting perspective on Arsenal’s season so far.
