Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is ready to say goodbye to Filbert’s Way as he has made up his mind to leave the club at the end of the season. The 25-year-old has been a big part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad and Tielemans believes he should weigh other options that are coming his way.

Three clubs have shown interest in the Belgian ace but no discussions or other forms of communication were reached between the player and/or his representatives in the last couple of weeks. Tielemans signed for Leicester from Monaco back in January 2019 as the winter window was coming to a close.

Tielemans has been clear to the club- he does not intend to stay further in the East Midlands. Leicester is rumoured to have offered him a three-year deal but the player rejected, insisting he wishes to leave on a free transfer come summer. Arsenal is the primary club in the race for the midfielder and the Gunners are very sure of landing the Belgium international in a matter of weeks.

The midfielder currently earns £33k weekly at the King Power and the proposed salary increase for him was not going to exceed £70k weekly. Sources close to the Belgian claim he wants to earn up to £85-100k weekly at the club and he was unhappy with the new offer brought to him by the club. Jamie Vardy is Leicester’s highest earner, with a weekly wage of £140k.

Arsenal are looking to pay Tielemans £80k weekly should he make the switch to North London. The deal is expected to be simple as he is going to come on a free basis. The club intends to entice him with a better salary and it is most likely he will accept the offer come June. Other clubs are yet to make their intentions known to the  Belgian and with Arsenal monopolizing the dialogue, that may be a big advantage for the Gunners who intend to add another box-to-box midfielder to their squad.

Arsenal are going to extend Mo Elneny’s contract till 2025 and the Egyptian will see a salary increase from next season and the midfielder is very happy to remain at the Emirates for the next few years.
