Kaduna State in Distress: Two APC Women Leaders Kidnapped by Terrorists

The families of two prominent women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are appealing to the authorities for immediate action, as their loved ones have allegedly been abducted by terrorists in Kaduna State.

Hajiya Lami Awarware, the Birnin Gwari APC women leader, and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu, were reportedly kidnapped along the Manini flashpoint of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area after attending the inauguration of the state governor, Senator Uba Sani.

The shocking incident took place on Tuesday when armed bandits ambushed the road, targeting the convoy carrying the APC women leaders and several others. The chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, disclosed that the bandits blocked the road and forcefully abducted the two women leaders, along with dozens of other innocent victims. The abductors swiftly vanished into the nearby forest without making any contact with the families or anyone in the area.

Concerns are mounting as the families anxiously await any communication from the abductors, praying for the safe return of their loved ones. However, no ransom demand or other form of contact has been established thus far. The families are growing increasingly desperate and have implored the relevant authorities to take urgent action to rescue the abducted women and bring them back home safely.

The police and APC officials in Kaduna State have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. As the news spread, residents and political stakeholders are expressing their deep concern and urging the law enforcement agencies to prioritize the rescue mission.

The situation in Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area has been fraught with insecurity for some time. Reports indicate that fleeing terrorists from neighboring Zamfara state sought refuge in the area due to relentless land and air bombardment by the Nigerian military. The encirclement of the region by these criminals has contributed to an atmosphere of fear and vulnerability among the local population.

The abduction of Hajiya Lami Awarware and Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu highlights the urgent need for improved security measures and prompt intervention by the government to address the prevailing challenges. The families of the victims, as well as concerned citizens, are eagerly awaiting a swift resolution to this distressing situation and the safe return of the abducted women.
