The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the postponement of its national caucus and national executive committee (NEC) meetings, originally scheduled for July 10 and 11, to July 18 and 19, respectively.

APC Postpones NEC Meeting
The decision was made to accommodate the regional and sub-regional commitments of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was recently elected as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

According to a statement released by Iyiola Omisore, the National Secretary of the APC, the national caucus meeting will take place at the presidential villa, while the NEC gathering will be held at the Transcorp Hilton the following day.

“The members of the national caucus and national executive committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are hereby informed that our meetings scheduled for the 10th and 11th of July, 2023, have been postponed to the 18th and 19th of July, 2023, respectively,” Omisore stated in the announcement.

Omisore further explained that the rescheduling was necessary due to President Bola Tinubu’s new responsibilities as the Chairman of ECOWAS. President Tinubu’s regional and sub-regional schedules and engagements compelled the party to adjust the meeting dates. The APC expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the change.

“The postponement is necessitated by the regional and sub-regional schedules and engagements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the new chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Inconveniences are regretted.”

In the meantime, the National Working Committee, led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has arranged a meeting with all Chairmen of APC State chapters at the national secretariat in Abuja. The meeting is set to take place on Monday, July 10, at 1:00 pm.

The APC remains committed to its internal party affairs and recognizes the importance of President Tinubu’s duties in advancing regional cooperation and development within ECOWAS.
