According to the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, Felix Morka, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, is taking a much-needed rest before his inauguration on May 29. Morka clarified that Tinubu is currently in Europe, where he is meeting with heads of government and other leaders from countries vital to the agenda he is bringing to his new government.

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Morka assured the public that Tinubu is doing well and will be back in the country shortly. He added that Tinubu’s brief hiatus is an understandable response to the energy he expended during the election campaign.

Morka emphasized that once Tinubu returns and is inaugurated, he will be responsible for running a country as massive and complex as Nigeria. He assured the public that Tinubu will be ready for the task, as he is currently in meetings regularly with all kinds of people who are travelling from other countries to see him preparatory to his inauguration.

Meanwhile, some opposition members have heightened speculation about Tinubu’s absence, with some suggesting that he is being treated for an undisclosed ailment. However, Morka dismissed these claims and stated that Tinubu’s absence is a working visit, and he is using this time to prepare for the challenges ahead.
