The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike pledged to provide support for the campaigns of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He said he would provide logistics support during Obiβs campaign in Rivers State.
Wike pledged his support to Obi, during the commissioning of the Ikoku flyover in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Wike, also described Obi, as βa very humble manβ and said he has the qualities to govern Nigeria.
βHeβs a former governor and presidential candidate, and a very humble man. As a state government, we will also give him logistics support for his campaigns.β
βEach time you want to campaign in the state, let me know, all the logistics support, we will give to you,β Wike told Obi.
Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed were in Port Harcourt to commission the 9th flyover by the present administration.
And they were gladly received by a large crowd of their supporters known as βObidientsβ.
In the past few months, Wike has been interacting with chieftains of other political parties.
Wikeβs action can be traced to his grievance with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following his defeat at the partyβs presidential primaries.
Wike alongside other four disgruntled governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) popularly called G-5 governors has been calling for the resignation of their national chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
This has made them at loggerheads with PDPβs presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
