The Presidential Candidate of the Action Action Congress (AAC), Omoleye Sowore, says he doesn’t need any support to win the upcoming presidential election.

Sowore claims he would prefer the support of the Nigerian populace over that of those who have destroyed Nigeria.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, was endorsed by former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, on January 1 2023. Obasanjo claimed obi “possesses the traits of a leader who will be a true president of this country by providing justice, equity, and fairness for all Nigerians.”
Two days later, PANDEF convener and national Ijaw leader Edwin Clark endorsed Obi as well.
Reacting to the barrage of endorsements, Sowore stated that he needs the βalliancesβ of Nigerians and not recognition from past leaders of the country.
Sowore added that he would never visit the homes of former leaders to beg for recognition.
βIβm interested in alliances. People can endorse without having to denigrate themselves,β the AAC presidential candidate said.
βBut, my own position in this particular case is that I donβt need the endorsement of people who have ruined Nigeria. I am very clear about that. I am not going to the home of a former president who destroyed this country to say, βhey, please endorse me so that I can be like youβ.
βThe kind of endorsement I want is from the people who decide who their leaders should be.
βPeople who are on the departure lounge of life, technically, should not be dictating the future of young people.β
