The 18-year-old, whose identity remains undisclosed due to legal reasons, has also confessed to other charges related to the home invasion robbery. The teenager was charged in a juvenile court and may remain in detention until he reaches the age of 25.

Earlier in 2023, another defendant in the same case, aged 20, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. This individual was 17 when the shooting occurred and has also been charged as a juvenile. In July 2020, nearly five months after the deadly break-in at the Los Angeles Airbnb where Pop Smoke was staying temporarily, a total of five people were apprehended by law enforcement.

Two of the accused, Keandre Rodgers and Corey Walker, are still facing murder charges and could potentially receive the death penalty if found guilty. An additional suspect was arrested but ultimately not charged in relation to the home invasion that claimed the life of the promising young rapper.
