Spurs are willing to accept a £16-17m bid from any club that is interested in Argentine star Giovanni Lo Celso with the club already ready to do more business this summer as Conte plans for next season.
Lo Celso spent the second half of the 2021/2022 season at Villarreal on a loan deal from North London and has since been a big part of Unai Emery’s side. Lo Celso played a big role in Villarreal’s UEFA Champions League campaign that saw them reach the semi-finals, losing to finalist Liverpool.
Lo Celso is very happy in Spain and he has confided to those close to him he does not wish to go back to Tottenham next season. The Argentina international is eager to get to work at Villarreal and he is looking forward to the new season with the Yellow Submarines.
The 25-year-old has had a torrid time at Sours after joining from Real Betis in 2019. He was a regular under Jose Mourinho but upon the Portuguese’s sacking and the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo, he became a fringe squad member, and with the arrival of Antonio Conte in November, he opted to leave temporarily.
An agreement will soon be reached between both clubs and Villarreal are confident of signing him permanently this window. There is competition however as Olympique Marseille are also scouting Lo Celso and could make a move for the midfielder if Villarreal are not quick enough. Lo Celso remains focused on the Spanish club but with transfer bids, anything is possible.
Spurs are planning to sell Tanguy Ndombele as he has no future under Antonio Conte. A permanent move to Olympique Lyon is on the cards and the midfielder could be open if the right bid comes forth.
