The Ogun State Police Command has explained the reason behind the issuance of an arrest warrant for the controversial singer, Portable.
Earlier on Tuesday videos of Portable raining curses on some Nigeria police officers surfaced on the internet.
The singer claimed that internet fraudsters had brought the police to his bar to arrest him and his staff members for no reason.
Reacting, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police, disclosed that Portable had been asked to report himself to the police on five occasions but refused to comply with the invitation.
According to Oyeyemi, Portable was invited for questioning after a young studio owner accused him and his boys of assaulting him and locking up his studio.
Oyeyemi further stated that despite the police sending an invitation to Portable through his father on two separate occasions, he still did not show up for questioning.
Consequently, the police obtained an arrest warrant for Portable from a court of law.
However, when police officers went to carry out the arrest, Portable stripped himself naked in an attempt to cause a scene.
Oyeyemi declared that the police would use minimum force to apprehend the singer, stating that Portable is not above the law.
